Artist Statement
It’s been a slow but rewarding process to discover my artistic voice. I first entered the world of art through the door of crafts - sewing, embroidery, beadwork. Each medium taught me something about texture, patience, and the beauty of detail.
Over time, curiosity led me to experiment with paint. Watercolor, acrylic, and oil, each opened new ways of expression - from the delicate transparency of watercolor to the boldness of oil.
My paintings are guided by instinct rather than plan. I work in layers, building texture and depth until the surface seems to breathe on its own. Bold color excites me - the way it vibrates, collides and finds harmony. Adding cold wax medium invites me to push, scrape, and reveal what lies beneath, much like the process of living itself.
I’m inspired by such artists as Georgia O’Keeffe, Sheep Jones and David Hockney - painters who embrace form and color with vitality.Their work reminds me that art can be both intimate and expansive, grounded and full of motion. Through my paintings, I hope to capture that same energy: the beauty of discovery, the joy of expression and the courage to always begin anew.
